Want to make a quick and easy homemade body scrub?
Whether you have sensitive or normal healthy skin . . . here are some easy ways you can use coconut oil to naturally remove old, dry, dead skin cells so you have softer, smoother, healthier skin.
Did you know that coconut oil itself is a mild natural exfoliator?
Yes . . . you don’t have to use a granular scrub or any other kind of exfoliator that will irritate your skin!
That’s great news! Especially if you have sensitive, delicate or mature skin like me.
Using organic coconut oil as your daily facial moisturizer and body moisturizer will nourish and energize your cells, causing your metabolism to speed up. That will stimulate your body’s healing and repair process to naturally help your skin shed those excess layers of dead cells that make it rough, uneven, dull and scaly.
But, if your skin needs a little extra help . . .
Here’s another gentle way you can use coconut oil to exfoliate the delicate skin on your face and your body without using abrasive granules or toxic chemicals.
You can also use the same method for your entire body.
CAUTION: Using any type of oil in the shower or tub will cause it to become very slippery!
If you prefer using a scrub . . . here’s an organic homemade body scrub recipe that smells delicious and you can make it right at home in minutes! Just two ingredients!
2 parts - Organic Brown Sugar
1 part - Organic Extra Virgin Coconut oil
It’s so easy to make! And . . . what could be better than using an oil in your homemade body scrub that is already a natural exfoliator?
Here's an example . . . you can adjust this recipe to your own needs.
1 cup organic brown sugar
½ cup organic extra virgin coconut oil
Make a larger batch if you’re going to give it away as gifts or a smaller batch if you're just making a single use batch for yourself. You can even splash in a few drops of organic vanilla if you want . . . it’s up to you.
That’s what's so great about making your own homemade body scrub!
TIP 1 - To avoid the possibility of water getting inside your scrub and causing bacteria, make up small single use batches. It’s quick, easy and you can use your hands to scoop it out when you’re in the shower!
TIP 2 - If you prefer to make up more than a single use batch, store it in an air tight container. Each time you want to exfoliate, use a spoon to scoop out the amount you need and put it into a separate smaller, unbreakable container that you can take into the shower. Then throw away any portion you don’t use.
It has really helped my skin and I had eczema!
No matter what method you use to exfoliate your skin . . . using coconut oil by itself or using it in your homemade body scrub will help you naturally get rid of dead skin cells. Over time your skin will look, feel and become healthier.
